Aqua C. Nixon is a married mother of two daughters and one son. She's an artist/illustrator, entrepreneur, speaker columnist and author. She's the Creator & CEO of Charmzworld LLC, founded in 2007. Charmzworld's aim is to show that representation matters and that "Every girl is beautiful."
She is also the author and illustrator of "Charmz Coloring & Activity Book." The book is filled with coloring pages, games and puzzles. It features the 'Charmz Girls'. They are beautifully designed graphic characters that reflect the spirit & beauty of confident young girls. Each illustration includes a positive affirmation to coincide with the image. The Charmz Girl characters were designed with her daughters in mind. Her desire was to create characters that young girls would love and identify with. This book is excellent for young girls between 3 - 10 years of age.

"When I had the idea for Charmz, I had two very small daughters. I mostly tried to buy products for them with girls of color i.e. dolls, stationary, clothing etc. (when I could find them) It was extremely important to me to instill self-esteem in my daughters at a very young age. It's the way I was raised.
Interestingly enough, when I created my first products - the Charmz Valentines Cards -
it was because I couldn't find cards, featuring little brown girls, for my daughter to hand out to her class. That was a defining moment for me. Then the thought came to me... 'You can do this yourself.' It was then that I decided to create Charmz. As a graphic artist, I already had the skills so I sat down and began to draw. That's how Charmzworld was conceived.
I wanted to create wholesome, age-appropriate characters for this line. Of course the first two characters that I designed, Maya & Jordan, were inspired by my daughters. From there I wanted variations in skin tone. I wanted the characters to be different ages and have their own personality. I hope every girl can identify with at least one character and feel empowered."
